Special guests inspire the scientists of the future at the Olympic School

The students and teachers of the Olympic School, organized by MATFIN, recently welcomed some extraordinary visitors during their latest sessions.

On one of these special occasions, the guest was mathematician Gyula J. Obádovics, whose legendary textbooks shaped generations and who is widely respected as a cornerstone of computer science education in Hungary. On another, Gergely Zimányi, a theoretical physicist, research professor at the University of California, and member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, shared his insights with the students.

The visits of these two renowned experts represent a huge recognition for the program, and their presence provided immense inspiration and motivation for the young talents preparing for international science olympiads. A key objective for the MATFIN Foundation is to establish a tradition of inviting such high-caliber, role-model scientists in the future as well.

The Foundation is entering the upcoming period with ambitious plans. Each county in Hungary will eventually have at least one school serving as a regional center. The Olympiad School will be extended by one day, offering intensive training from Wednesday through Saturday to students preparing for competitions.
